There are a few wild fowl reserves in the north of County Dublin. These areas provide a natural habitat for a huge variety of sea birds and other flora and fauna. The major estuaries and wetlands are Broadmeadow at Malahide, where the sea's incursions have created a lake and wetlands; Rogerstown embraces the peninsula between Portrane and Donabate, an enchanting backwater with a store of wildlife; Baldoyle Estuary, which runs between the village of Sutton and the Portmarnock Peninsula.
