About this event

Come and celebrate 121 years of Bloomsday at The Bloomsday Festival on 11-16 June 2025! More than 100 events across the city of Dublin commemorate June 16th 1904, the day on which James Joyce's novel Ulysses is set.

Bloomsday celebrates June 16th 1904, the day immortalised in James Joyce’s 1922 novel "Ulysses." The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the novel’s protagonists. The novel follows Bloom’s life and thoughts (as well as those of a host of other characters, real and fictional) from 8am through to the early hours of the following morning.

Bloomsday celebrations come in many different forms, including readings, performances, reenactments, tours, exhibitions, lectures, children’s events, a film festival, and even yoga! One noticeable feature is that people will dress up like the characters in Edwardian fashion.

Come celebrate one of Ireland's most iconic and unique cultural celebrations!
