About this event
National Symphony Orchestra
Christian Reif conductor
Anastasia Kobekina cello
Schumann’s Cello Concerto, with the ‘unrivalled’ (Le Figaro) Anastasia Kobekina as soloist, finds cello and orchestra as equals in the most personal and enigmatic of statements.
A lyrical lament for the war-time bombing of Dresden, the 23 strings of Richard Strauss’s Metamorphosen borrow a motif from the funeral march of Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony. Late-Romanticism at its most personal and affecting.
Tickets €15, €25, €29, €34.50, €39
