Learn the Viking board game of Hnetafafl and Nine's Men Morris at the National Museum of Ireland- Archaeology.

Did you know that the Vikings played a boardgame called Hnefatafl?

And that the Monks of Glendalough played Nine's Men Morries?

Drop in and learn how to play Hnefatafl and Nine's Men Morris and even make your own board games and counters to bring home with you. Hnefatafl was a board game that was brought to Ireland by the Vikings, and Nine's Men Morries was a board game popular all over Medieval Europe.

No booking required. Located in the Learning Resource Room, First Floor. Not wheelchair accessible.

Ages 8+yrs

Each Drop-In workshop takes place for an hour and a half and has a short activity that takes between 15-30 minutes to complete, however, you are more than welcome to stay as long as you wish.
