The Zoological Museum, located in the heart of Trinity College, Dublin City, is home to some 25,000 specimens and also live animal displays. It is one of Dublin's best kept secrets. Open every day from June to August.

The Zoological Museum of Trinity College offers an interactive experience to visitors of all ages, providing the opportunity to hold a narwhal tusk, see a hippo's skull and take a selfie with the jaws of a great white shark.

Visitors are encouraged to hold a live snake, frog or insect and to touch some of the items on display. A children's corner is featured with books and drawing materials.

The museum guides are recent zoology graduates on hand to answer questions and show you some amazing museum specimens and how to use the microscope.

The Zoological Museum has a history stretching back over 250 years. The collection as a whole is of significant national and international importance.

Please note that this museum is different from the National Museum of Natural History.

The Zoological Museum is in the Zoology building on the Trinity College campus. It is near the sculpture called Apples and Atoms, designed by Eilís O’Connell, who was inspired by atom splitting technology.
