About this event

To mark the festival of Bealtaine, celebrating creativity as we age, and the upcoming St. Gallen: Words Upon the Wave exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, join calligrapher and artist Tim O’Neill on this special workshop.

This workshop will begin with a tour in the Museum where you will explore life in Early Medieval Ireland, the coming of Christianity and the introduction of writing and manuscripts in Ireland. This will be followed by a demonstration by Tim O’Neill, where you will learn how to write in the early medieval Irish text of Insular Majuscule.

This free adult workshop will last approximately two hours and is not wheelchair accessible. Art materials will be provided for use on the day.
