About this event

This lecture explores the Persian manuscripts in the Chester Beatty, with some direct comparisons to the wonderful carpets in the Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon.

Delivering splendid visual designs in vibrant colour, knotted pile carpets were a significant material element of court life across greater Iran from at least the fifteenth century.

Appointed in 2018, Dr Moya Carey is Curator of Islamic Collections at the Chester Beatty.

Free, no booking required for onsite attendance. Please register on Chester Beatty website for online viewing via Zoom.
