Merrion Square Open Air Art Gallery

The Merrion Square Open Air Art Gallery is Dublin City's only free year-round outdoor art exhibition which now has over 200 artists showing and selling their work every Sunday. You will find them with their art hanging on the railings that enclose the Square.

Dublin City Council runs the exhibition and the artists are only licenced to exhibit original paintings of their own creation, so you get to buy art directly from the artist. No commission is included in the price of the paintings so you will discover that prices are quite reasonable. Every year new artists are allowed to exhibit, so the art keeps changing.

Merrion Square is one of Dublin’s largest and grandest Georgian squares. On three sides are Georgian Houses and on the other the garden of Leinster House, and two National Museums. Many of the houses have plaques detailing the rich and famous who were once resident. The attractive central park features colourful flower and shrub beds, playground and many statues - stop by and see Oscar Wilde casually reclining on his rock.

Come enjoy the art and discover a treasure to take home!
