About this event

National Symphony Orchestra present a Summer Lunchtime with Alizé Léhon, conductor and Rowel Friers, piano at the National Concert Hall this July.

Colour and atmosphere aplenty and music to escape with. Copland’s An Outdoor Overture transports us to the American frontier, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, courtesy of 2023 Irish Freemason’s Young Musician of the Year Rowel Friers, to the exhilaration of the Big Apple, Márquez’s Danzón to sultry Mexico via Cuba. Ravel’s haunting Pavane pour une infante défunte provides pause for breath and reflection.

Broadcast on The Full Score with Liz Nolan on RTÉ lyric fm.
