BENCH is back! A new outdoor dance commission inspired by Dublin’s canals and surrounds highlighting everyday spaces as creative places through vibrant choreographic commissions by distinctive Dublin based dance artists.

A bench by the water – a place to rest, a point to meet, a space to dream. Inspired by Dublin’s canals and their surroundings, BENCH #3 is the latest piece in a series of works to be performed on the banks of the city's canals.

CoisCéim Dance Theatre and Waterways Ireland are thrilled to reveal Sibéal Davitt, fresh from her tour of the critically acclaimed MINSEACH, as the commissioned artist for BENCH #3 coming this May as part of the 2024 Dublin Dance Festival. An award-winning artist, Sibéal's work is influenced by contemporary, classical and Irish traditional sean-nós dance which she will bring to this innovative new commission. With free outdoor performances over two days, BENCH #3 is an invitation to take a breath and discover dance.
