About this event
In December, as Dublin darkens by 3:30 pm, the city transforms into a festive wonderland. From nostalgic Santa visits and themed shop windows to modern light displays and decorated facades, Christmas spirit fills the air. Strings of lights sway above busy streets, carol singers raise money for charity, and giant trees glow brightly.
The live-animal nativity at the Mansion House remains a beloved tradition. While not as grand as continental markets, Dublin Castle hosts a charming market, and Henry Street offers a uniquely local one. Pubs, shops, and even government buildings compete to create the jolliest atmosphere. End your walk at The Church bar with a free festive drink for every one purchased!
