Family Screening with NSOI: The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child
Sun, 20 Sep
National Concert Hall

From the dreamlike world of The Fairy Queen, with its fairy dances, enchanted scenes and midsummer romances, to Telemann’s playful musical portrait of Don Quixote the programme captures the energy and exuberance of Baroque music.
The programme includes:
Purcell Suite from The Fairy Queen
Marcello – Oboe Concerto in D minor, S.Z799
Telemann – Ouverture, Burlesque de Quixotte TWV 55:G10
The concert marks the culmination of a week-long course in historical performance, bringing together young musicians from across Ireland to study and perform Baroque repertoire in historically informed styles.
This concert offers the opportunity to hear outstanding young musicians perform timeless music under the copper dome of the Pepper Canister.
