About this event

An exciting night of Ireland’s best spoken word as Gaeilge (in Irish) to choose Dublin’s 2026 entry for Slamovision, the international slam poetry competition for UNESCO cities of literature across the world! (Live translations provided in English).

Slamovision is a unique, spoken word initiative celebrating the finest in spoken word poetry in the world. Similar to Eurovision, cities compete through poetry performances, showcasing local talent on an international stage. Slamovision increases cultural participation within individual cities, and provides a new and exciting opportunity to showcase local talent on an international stage.

Internationally award-winning poet Cormac Mac Gearailt hosts the evening, which also features a musical performance by bilingual Kerry-based artist Amano.

Performances are as Gaeilge with live translations provided in English.

Presented in association with Dublin City Council, Dublin UNESCO City of Literature and Rising Tide.
