Études is the second album from Dublin pianist and composer, Daniel Luke. This new work by Daniel, a set of solo piano études, emerged from his exploration of the foundations and fundamentals of pianism and composition.

The études explore timbre, resonance, polyrhythms and atmosphere. Taking inspiration from the post-minimalist and romantic era movements, these intimate pieces represent a maturation of Daniel’s sound and compositional ambition.

Operating somewhere in the space between electronic and organic, West of Ireland based artist Louise Gaffney weaves an intricately layered sound made lush and warm through a string of analog machines. Balancing a DIY ambience with an undeniable pop nous, its heart worn firmly on its sleeve.
