Workshop: Introduction to Qalam-kari Patterns

Saturday, 20 August 2022 - Sunday, 21 August 2022
About this event
Qalam-kari is the traditional Persian art of stamping colourful designs onto fabric using a heavy wooden stamp carved with shapes inspired by nature. During this two-day workshop, artist Roxana Manouchehri will introduce you to traditional qalam-kari patterns but instead of carving wood, we will use lino to create our stamps. Natural dyes and cotton will be provided. This event has been organised to highlight Heritage Week.
Limited to 15 Participants, €75 per person. Booking essential.
This is a 2-day workshop: Sat 20 & Sun, 21 August from 12:00 to 17:00.
