Whiskey Island Tours - Dublin Whiskey Story

Discover the magic of what was once the whiskey making capital of the world. Starting at the Celtic Whiskey Shop, visitors will have time to browse through the vast stocks of whiskeys and sample some of the whiskeys of the month with a store representative.

The tour continues onward by foot to The Irish Whiskey Museum which is a fitting introduction to Irish whiskey. Enjoy the captivating anecdotes of story tellers as they take a journey through the ages revealing the origins of Irish whiskey, its rise to glory, dramatic downfall and current global revival.

Guests will then board a luxury coach outside the museum to sit back and soak up the magic of Dublin as the guide brings the heritage of whiskey-making in Dublin to life, while recounting some riveting tales. The next stop is Teeling Whiskey Distillery which was the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years.

Here visitors are treated to a tour of an actual working distillery and guided through the process of making Irish whiskey. The tour culminates in the Bang Bang bar where the finished Small Batch Teeling Whiskey product can be sampled along with a hand crafted seasonal whiskey cocktail.

Next the coach will make a short trip across the River Liffey to Smithfield to visit the original home of Jameson Irish Whiskey. John Jameson started distilling his famous whiskey here in 1780 and, today, the Jameson visitor centre in the old distillery buildings is one of the most popular attractions in the city. Rather than taking the tour here at Jameson’s guests will experience a very special whiskey tasting, in the Maturation House.

The coach then returns to downtown Dublin to be dropped off at one of the city’s most well regarded whiskey bars Sláinte.
