Viva España Signature Series: Jo Ann Falletta

1.4km from O'Connell Bridge

Jo Ann Falletta is one of the brightest lights working in classical music today. The conductor and recording artist is Musical Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic, Virginia Symphony, and a Principal Guest Conducter at the Brevard Music Centre, and now she is on her way to Dublin to conduct the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall.

This concert is part of the Viva Espana Signature Series, which sees a programme of music by Spanish composers, or inspired by Spain, performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Accompanied by soloist Craig Ogden, you will experience the orchestra play Ravel’s Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunt, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnole and Rogrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez in spectacular style.

In addition, the orchestra and soloist will perform pieces by Falla, Ginastera and Granados under Falletta’s watchful eye.

This will be Jo Ann Falletta’s musical debut in Ireland, and as you watch her, you will quickly understand why the New York Times dubbed her one of the finest conductors of our generation.
