The Headhunters

The Headhunters formed when they performed as the backing band on Herbie Hancock's seminal jazz funk fusion record Head Hunter, which was released in 1973 and remains a classic of the genre to this date.

Consisting of Hancock on keyboards, Bennie Maupin (sax and clarinet), Paul Jackson (bass), and Bill Summers (percussion) and Mike Clark on drums, the band pushed the boundaries of improvisation while also making incredibly funky music that got people dancing.

Hancock later departed the group to continue with his solo work but The Headhunters kept on going, and are back to tour Dublin one more time this November. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see the newest line-up of the band which also features the electric guitar playing of DeWayne "Blackbyrd" McKnight.
