Renault GAA World Games 2019

Nearly 1,200 players from 10 regions around the globe are bringing Gaelic games home to Ireland for the Renault GAA World Games 2019 in Waterford & Dublin this Summer with more than 500 games to be played throughout the event.

The Renault GAA World Games 2019 will focus on the four codes; Gaelic Football, Ladies Gaelic Football, Hurling & Camogie, which will then be broken down into two tiers; Irish born players and non-Irish born players. Each team has a panel of 13 players and teams from as far away as Argentina, South Africa, Middle East, Argentina and Japan will take part. In total, it is expected that approximately 5,000 people will be involved in this year’s games between players, team officials, administrators, volunteers, families and supporters.

The Renault GAA World Games 2019 will open on Sunday 28th July with team registration followed by a Parade & Opening Ceremony, taking place in Waterford City Centre at 18:30. Games will begin on Monday 29th July 2019 at the WIT Arena and conclude on Thursday 1st August 2019. Teams will then travel to Dublin for the finals in Croke Park which begin at 10.00 on Friday August 2nd.

Admission is free to the week long festival in both WIT Arena, Waterford & Croke Park, Dublin.

Once again, the Renault GAA World Games 2019 will showcase the extent to which the passion and participation for Gaelic games has now spread far beyond our shores and will acknowledge the keepers of this flame.
