Bass guitarist Pat Metheny is one of the all time greats. He’s been the artist-in-residence at the Detroit Jazz Festival, created work for Eberhard Weber, and even performs in a duet with Ron Carter, Miles Davis’ bassist. Now, he’s en route to Dublin to perform for you at the National Concert Hall.
He’ll be accompanied on stage by Antonio Sanchez, the drummer who scored the Oscar-winning Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu. Linda Oh, a buzzy bassist with an amazing sound, and British pianist Gwilym Simcock, a real young talent whose star is on the ascendant, will also be on deck.
Pat will bring together this crew at the National Concert Hall and they’ll jam out on compositions that originated from Pat himself, which turn into something pure and collaborative as the artists get stuck in to the music on the stage.
