Macbeth

One of the great Shakespearean tragedies, Macbeth, is getting a new lease of life in a staggering and bold new production from the British National Theatre.

Directed by the National Theatre’s Artistic Director Rufus Norris and designed by Rae Smith, previously of War Horse and This House, this new reimagining of Macbeth thrusts the story from 17th century Scotland into a post-apocalyptic world of anarchy and uncertainty. Regardless of the details of the surroundings, the words of the bard’s dark tale of political ambition and deceit ring as true as ever.

This visually daring and psychologically intense version of the Scottish Play has sold out theatres in London, and is now embarking on a tour of the UK and Ireland and makes a limited stop at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for eight unmissable shows.
