Concerts & Gigs

When David Bowie died in January 2016, a group of some of Ireland’s top musicians, including Glen Hansard, Dave McGuinness, Duncan Maitland, Bell X1, Jack L, and Ger Eaton gathered in Whelan’s to pay tribute to one of the world’s most beloved musicians by singing his songs.

Many of those same musicians decided to get together again in 2017 in the Opium Rooms as part of the first Dublin Bowie Festival, and this January sees the continuation of the I Heart Bowie tradition, as it returns to Whelan’s.

You’ll see Irish musical royalty showing their love for Bowie classics like Diamond Dogs, Oh You Pretty Things, and Ashes To Ashes on this night of celebration of the man they called the Chameleon of Pop.
