Gallery of Photography Ireland

The Gallery of Photography Ireland was established in 1978 by John Osman and is now one of Ireland’s leading cultural arts organisations. The award-winning gallery is located in the heart of Temple Bar in Dublin City centre and was designed by architects O’Donnell + Tuomey.

The diverse programme of free exhibitions showcases the best of contemporary Irish and international photography. Free public talks and events encourage critical debate and develop an appreciation for photography in an engaging and accessible way.

The Gallery of Photography Ireland also supports Irish photographers in the ongoing development of their work through, artists commissions, artist fees for education, training, production support for exhibitions, artist’s residency programme, book publishing, touring exhibitions, networking and representation of photographers’ work nationally and internationally.

The Gallery of Photography Ireland have featured work by many of the leading talents in contemporary photography and has initiated the National Photography Collection as part of their future plans for the gallery.
