Gallery of Photography

Since its inception in 1978, the Gallery of Photography has become a well known venue for photography. The gallery moved to its present location in 1995, a purpose-built space with fully fitted darkrooms and digital imaging facilities in Dublin City's Meeting House Square.

The gallery, which is non-profit making, is funded by the Arts Council and Dublin Corporation. However the cost of maintaining standards continues to rise and the gallery relies on sponsorship and support from members to help fund its activities.

Groups are welcome to visit the gallery, and group tours are free of charge. The Gallery of Photography exhibition spaces and darkroom facilities are fully accessible to people in wheelchairs.

See the website for classes offered in various photographic techniques. Some are tailored for 12-16 year olds.

If you would like to arrange for a tour of the gallery and an informal talk on the current exhibition, please contact the education officer.
