DruidShakespeare: Richard III

One of the country's leading theatre companies, Druid, are continuing their exploration of the works of The Bard with a new interpretation of the historical drama Richard III.

Richard III depicts the rise to power and short reign of the titular king, who was crippled from birth and intensely ambitious in his desire to bend the world to his own will.

A chillingly dark (and sometimes comic) villain, Richard III explores ideas about free will and fatalism. Druid have previously given the Richard II, Henry IV (Parts 1 & 2) and Henry V their own unique treatment to great acclaim, so it is no wonder that this new production is so eagerly anticipated.
