When David Bowie passed away in early 2016, the world collectively mourned. People gathered around his records, descended on his off-Broadway play, and watched the Man Who Fell To Earth through tearful eyes.

A year later, Dublin hosted its very first Bowie Festival, enjoying a successful first run that saw a huge turnout of fans ready to dance, sing, party, and commemorate the one-year anniversary of the passing of the Thin White Duke.

In 2018 the Dublin Bowie Festival has expanded its programme to incorporate many other facets of David Bowie, including his love for collecting visual art.

Dedicated to how visual art has captured David Bowie’s facial expressions over the decades, a stroll through A Portrait in Flesh is just one of the many ways you can commemorate one of the most influential artists the world has seen.
