  • A Night Before Christmas

Theatre, Stage & Film

A Night Before Christmas is a literary festive feast for you to enjoy at the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire; some of Ireland’s most talented actors and musicians will take to the stage to perform magnificent stories to lull you into that peaceful yuletide mood.

In Ireland, telling stories is a part of life, and, indeed, death. Stories are told at every gathering; sometimes they’re sweet and poignant, other times they’re hilarious, and, you suspect, perhaps 98% fictional. Either way, they are as much a part of Irish culture as trad music sessions or watching the All-Ireland at Croke Park.

In this celebration of the oral tradition, actors like Phelim Drew, Owen Roe and Cathy Belton will perform a variety of stories for the assembled listeners. In addition, there will be gorgeous music from the eminently gifted Lisa Lambe and Cormac de Barra.

A Night Before Christmas will be a seasonal spectacular for lovers of literature and song at the Pavilion Theatre. Don’t miss out on the feeling of that festive joy singing in your heart.
