Though Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966) worked with clay, plaster, paints, pens, and pencils, his main material was human life. He set his gaze upon select individuals and through them explored ideas about the human condition.
Featuring over 50 bronze and plaster sculptures, paintings, drawings, and prints, this exciting exhibition examines the artist's early years in Switzerland through to his life and studio in Paris, and his close working relationships with family members and friends who modelled for him.
This exhibition is co-organised by the National Gallery of Ireland and the Fondation Giacometti.
Opening hours: Mon: 11:00–17:30 / Tues–Wed: 09:15–17:30 / Thur: 09:15–20:30 / Fri–Sat: 09:15–17:30 / Sun: 11:00–17:30.
