Edmondstown Golf Club is a mature parkland course, with many featured water hazards. The course was used as a pre qualifying course for the Irish Open, and is considered a true test for golfers of all abilities.

Major focal points of the course are the secluded 4th and 6th hole which are isolated from the remainder of the course by a meandering stream, drawing the golfer into a difficult shot to the green; indeed the aforementioned 6th remains one of the best inland par fours in Ireland.
