Dublin is home to one of Europe’s top rugby teams, Leinster Rugby.
Leinster is Dublin’s top professional sports team competing in both the Magners League and the Heineken Cup. They play 14 home matches between September and May normally on Friday evenings or Saturdays.
The home ground is the RDS, and occasionally bigger games are held at Aviva Stadium. The team includes a wealth of Irish and international talent including team captain Leo Cullen, Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll, Ireland internationals Luke Fitzgerald, Rob Kearney, Jamie Heaslip and Jonathan Sexton and stars from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
The team has a tradition of playing attacking attractive rugby, and this had led to regular success and a large support from around the Leinster region.
