This building, which was constructed between 1893 and 1895, is a prime example of Victorian Commercial architecture. It was designed by one of the leading architects of the age, William Henry Lynn, and is unique in that it is one of Dublin’s rare exponents of Scottish sandstone. The main façade is sandstone faced, three bay, five storey over basement structure with a two storey Corinthian façade and picturesque turret.

The Ground Floor which now comprises the main pub area was once the main banking hall with a pair of rooms to the east. The interior, which has strict preservation restrictions, is both stunning and remarkable, displaying all the vestiges of power and affluence of a great financial institution. In particular, the materials of construction, the mosaic tiled floor, the carved stonework and the extraordinarily ornate interior make this building one of the undisputed jewels of the Victorian Age.

The Bank on College Green serves first class food and drink all day, seven days a week. Our Restaurant is open from 9am serving a Full Breakfast Menu. For your added convenience we have ATM facilities in the lounge and the pub is fully wheelchair accessible.
