Description: No trip to Ireland is complete without a visit to the legendary Blarney Woollen Mills. With five stores across Ireland, including the successful Dublin location right in the heart of the city
centre, Blarney Woollen Mills offers the essential Irish shopping experience.

Established in 1823, Blarney Woollen Mills in Co. Cork provided valuable employment to the locals, producing tweeds and woollens for the home and export markets. After a period of decline, the Mill
was forced to close in 1973 leaving a void in the village.
A former employee named Christy Kelleher decided he would buy the buildings he had worked in as a boy and turn the Mill into a Visitor Centre. Between them, his family raised the funds to purchase the Mill and persuaded the banks to support his venture. Christy Kelleher was now the proud owner of the Woollen Mills where he had started his working life at the age of 13 as an apprentice machinist.

Today, Blarney Woollen Mills houses the largest selection of Irish Products in the world and is renowned for its exceptional quality. With an unrivalled selection of Sweaters and Woollens, Crystal and China, Gifts and Souvenirs for all the family, this famous store has something for everyone. Christy Kelleher, this great man of vision, died in 1991 aged 76. He left behind him a thriving family company which still retains that ‘Blarney spirit’ that made it all possible.

A visit to Blarney Woollen Mills, Nassau Street is a ‘must do’ when in Dublin, and we look forward to welcoming you.
