Situated in the original bar of the hotel, this is the place where Bono & The Edge fell in love with The Clarence and decided to buy the hotel. To this day The Octagon is a place they would choose to drink when in Dublin. The surroundings are intimate and plush and it's a nice place to sit and enjoy a cocktail beside an open fire and munch on some complementary snacks. One of Octagon's best features is the pub food. Bar food is served daily from noon until 5.00pm and afternoon tea is also available. The Bar Food menu offers tasty light meals such as Irish Smoked Salmon and Oysters with soda scones and Spaghetti and meatballs with a tomato, coriander and olive sauce. Every day a special daily dish is also on offer and this dish can vary from Steak and Guinness pie to Pork and Chive Sausages.Afternoon Tea is a simple and dainty affair served between 12.00pm - 5pm. Guests can sample a selection of Finger sandwiches, pastries and scones served with tea or coffee.
