The Dropping Well

The Dropping Well is a landmark pub located on the banks of the river Dodder in the south city area of Milltown, Dublin 6. One of the Chawke group of pubs and restaurants, this watering hole was granted its first licence in 1847.

The Dropping Well, a fine traditional pub with a rich history, has been extensively renovated over the years and continues to offer a convivial atmosphere coupled with excellent facilities.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and function menus are constantly updated, or can be individually tailored to personal preferences. All food ingredients are fresh, seasonal and locally sourced. Only Irish beef and lamb are served and seafood comes directly from Wrights of Marino, the highly reputed fish suppliers. Coeliac friendly dishes are available, and there is a large and varied wine list and a rare liquor stock available.

The Dropping Well has two function rooms, in addition to Classon's Bridge Restaurant. All types of occasions are catered for, family, business, corporate, or charity functions.

Major sporting events are shown on 3D and LCD TV screens. The Dropping Well also hosts many live band acts and DJs and organises golf outings, wine tastings and other promotional nights for customers' enjoyment.

The Dropping Well is easily accessible as the Milltown Luas Station is very close and there is a customer car park. There is free WiFi, and the venue is accessible for wheelchair users.
