At St Margaret’s Golf Club, a warm welcome is extended to visitors seven days a week. St Margaret’s is a challenging layout for golfers of all levels. Designed by Tom Craddock and Pat Ruddy, it first opened for play in 1992. This parkland course has hosted many tournaments including The Irish PGA Championship, Irish Senior’s Open and the Ladies Irish Open. St Margaret’s is an accredited member of the Bord Fáilte Golf Assurance Scheme, which ensures your golfing experience is professionally managed from start to finish. As visiting golfers, you are members for the day and our clubhouse staff are here to assist you with all of your golfing and hospitality requirements. The large USGA-specification greens, rolling fairways and superb use of water hazards, incorporating the River Ward, provide a fantastic test of golf, which is sure to satisfy all who play St Margaret’s. There are five par fives on this par-73 course, with plenty of birdie opportunities to be had for the golfer who is not afraid to open his shoulders a little. The front nine holes incorporate a difficult stretch from holes four to nine but, for most players, the back nine holes play a little easier. St Margaret’s also offers the golfer a driving range facility with both covered and outdoor grass bays, a large practice putting green and a short-game chipping area with bunkers. St Margaret’s is also the official venue for the Professional Golfer’s Association (PGA) Irish region exams and PGA Professional Development courses.
