See & Do

  • Dublin International Piano Festival

This summer will see Dublin’s fifth International Piano Festival and Summer Academy take place.

The DIPF is both an intensive and educational programme for advanced piano students and an exciting concert series for music loving folks. From 22 to 30 July, DIPF will bring a fantastic array of concerts to the National Concert Hall (NCH) and the Hugh Lane Gallery from top-class international pianists and emerging artists alike.

The DIPF offers students a unique chance to network and learn within their own peer group on an international level. Recreational jaunts afford international students a chance to see the culture and history of Dublin while experiencing the city’s vibrant summer nightlife. Festival participants will be mingling with visitors from around the country and from all over the world.

The 2017 festival will welcome luminaries like Archie Chen to lead masterclasses, while performances from Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky and the American pianist Frederic Chiu will silence you with their majesty. The Dublin International Piano Festival is nothing if not innovative, though, so you raconteurs will also enjoy the closing concert from Francesco Tristano, who will perform some electronic and techno pieces. Who says piano isn't cool, eh?

Whether you’re a pianist looking to hone your skills, or are an admirer of great musical talent, the DIPF will see a rich programme of events take place across Dublin.
