Hostels in Dublin

Colourful bar at the Jacobs Inn hostel.

Fun and lively or quiet and calm.

Dublin’s hostel scene has budget rooms for every type of visitor, with many located in the centre of the city.

The award-winning Generator Hostel in Smithfield is the slickest, and located right next door to the Jameson Distillery, a top city attraction. Close to Grafton Street lie Ashfield and Kinlay House, with Oliver St John Gogarty’s and Abigail’s perfect for exploring Temple Bar. Old favourites like Gardiner Place, Abbey Court and Garden Lane Backpackers, close to St Patrick’s Cathedral can be relied on for clean and affordable central accommodation. If you’d prefer something out of town, and by the sea, Mulgrave Lodge in Dun Laoghaire is a remodelled Victorian-building with DART access taking you straight to the city centre in 20 minutes.
