Main Areas
of Dublin
City Centre: To be right in the heart of
it all stay in the city centre. Many of the visitor
attractions are within walking distance and all varieties
and grades of accommodation
can be availed of in this area.
North City: This area houses some fine
examples of Georgian architecture and is easily accessible
from the Airport and Dublin Port, you will find most classes
of accommodation here
which are either within walking distance of the city centre
or are a short bus journey away.
South City: This area is located to the
south of the city centre and the River Liffey, it is primarily
residential area and is home to some fine hotels and
restaurants.
North County/Fingal: North County Dublin
is home to many fine sandy beaches, stately
homes and country walks, an impressive selection
of golf courses are
also on offer. Dublin Airport is also located here, seven
miles north of the city centre.
South County: An area famous for its walks
in the Dublin mountains and its picturesque coastline, easily
accessible from the city centre by train. Dun Laoghaire Ferry
Port is also located in this area along with inland towns
such as Tallaght offering excellent shopping
facilities.
