The Christmas Racing Festival at Leopardstown is one of the highlights of the racing calendar and combines a mix of National Hunt and Flat fixtures.
Built in 1888 and modelled on Sandown Racecourse in England, Leopardstown racecourse is situated in the suburban belt, six miles south of the city centre. Set in beautiful surroundings at the foothills of the Dublin mountains, it is a pleasure to visit and is recognised as one of Europe's premier racecourses. On race days, thousands of turf-lovers flock to the course to enjoy one of the nation's favourite pastimes.
Facilities
Leopardstown Racecourse is one of Europe's premier racetracks. It offers 24 Private Suites, Hospitality Rooms, the Leopardstown Pavilion, Fillies Café Bar, the Silken Glider Restaurant, the Paddock Food Hall, Club 92, Madigans and numerous bars and snack areas.
Getting There:
• LUAS offers a regular service from St Stephens Green to Sandyford / Brewery Road which takes only 22 minutes. The racecourse is only a short walk from the station however a complimentary shuttle bus service is available on race days.
• Raceday Bus Services From Busaras Central Bus Station.
