The ALL STAR Wars returns to The Olympia Theatre for three nights only on May 3rd, 4th & 5th due to demand. The gags, both verbal and visual come thick and fast in this epic saga of hurleys, heroes and hang sangwidges.
A Must See for all GAA fans.
The All Star Wars is a two hour musical comedy about hurling.
The plot centres around a Junior B hurler called Hugh Cullen, who is well past his sell-by date on the playing field... a family man, Club man and all round lost cause.
A normal day at the playing field takes a sudden twist when Hugh Cullen (apparently a blood relation of Cuchulainn) is whisked off on a journey through time by the enigmatic Obi Wan Camogie and told that in order to save hurling's future he must propagate the Cuchulainn seed by laying with the Lady GAA GAA and defeat King Henry of the Shefflin Order in a once-off battle of biblical proportions. What follows is two hours of top drawer situation comedy in which the world of hurling is turned on its head.
Ultimately the show takes a side-ways glance at Ireland's obsession with the game of hurling.
All of the famous characters from the game both on and off the field are parodied in what has been described by critics as hurling's answer to I Keano.
Everyone from the players themselves, the management teams, the pundits and commentators, the umpires and referees are featured in this laugh a minute comedy.
Warning! This show contains scenes of nudity from the knees down!
The All Star Wars - the hilarious new smash-hit hurling comedy by Bryan Flynn & Kevin McCormack. Musical Director is David Hayes.
