Summer is a Festival
Annual fireworks back with a bang to light up the Dun Laoghaire sky
Venue: Dun Laoghaire Harbour
After the success of the fireworks display that featured as part of last year’s Figaro event, DLR events are building up to another spectacular fireworks display this August.
On Saturday 18th August the Dun Laoghaire night sky is set to come alive once again with a sensational display of fireworks. To celebrate Summer as a Festival, a feast of Festival Fireworks will be set off in Dun Laoghaire Harbour as the night sets in.
Starting at dusk (between 9.30 – 10pm), this magical fireworks display is guaranteed to be a magnificent sight not to be missed, so be sure to visit Dun Laoghaire on the 18th and feast your eyes on this awesome display of colourful explosions of fire.
We recommend that the best place to view the free show is along Dun Laoghaire Harbour/ Old Marine Rd/ Newtown Smith. Be sure to arrive early and please use public transport whenever possible.
The Festival Fireworks display will top off one of the busiest days on the Summer is a Festival calendar of events in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County. The Ukelele Hooley will be kicking off in the People’s Park on the 18th, with a series of concerts and workshops to give you the ultimate experience of ukulele music across the weekend. Tasty treats from the barbeque will be available in the Pavilion Quarter making the summer festival experience complete. If that’s not enough amusement for one day, there is plenty to see and do on the 18th for nature lovers and train enthusiasts with biodiversity events in Sandycove and Cabinteely, and a Model Railway Exhibition in the County Hall on Marine Road in Dun Laoghaire
