I’ve started to recognise complete strangers…
The Abbey Theatre is proud to present new Irish writing as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival. Shibari brings together two exciting theatre artists, writer Gary Duggan and director Tom Creed, each making their Abbey debut.
In Dublin city, people are more connected than you think. It will only take something small for six lives to become entwined.
A bookshop employee
A restaurant manager
An English movie star
A sales team leader
A Japanese florist
What binds them together?
Relationships are strained, snapped and formed in this modern-day look at life in a multi-cultural Dublin.
Shibari is Gary’s debut at the Abbey Theatre following his participation in the Abbey’s 2008 Short Play Commission Series, 20: Love.
Shibari contains strong language, partial nudity, sexual content and scenes of drug taking.
