Join us and a sea of Santas, at 1.30pm on Sunday 16th December for a festive family walk on Dun Laoghaire’s East Pier! Known as ‘Irelands most walked walk’, we’re asking you to take your Sunday walk on this famous pier to help change the lives of vulnerable children.
Santa Claus has kindly lent us hundreds of his (large!) spare suits to keep us warm as we walk the pier and everyone gets a Barnardos medal for taking part! Don’t forget to dress up your little elves, buggy’s and pets to be in with a chance to win some great spot prizes on the day too. Most importantly, wrap up warm as we’ll be Santa Strolling by the sea!
Dun Laoghaire’s Christmas Festival will be in full swing too, so there will be plenty for all the family after our walk including a magical fireworks display at 5.00pm.
Location: Registration/Start/Finish for the walk will be at the carpark adjacent to The National Yacht Club, at entrance to the lower level of the east pier.
Barnardos encourages you to register online in advance at www.barnardos.ie or by calling 1850 222 300. Registration is available on the day from 12.00pm. Adults will receive a free Santa Suit on the day of the event.
Prizes: Spot prizes for best dressed man, woman, boy, girl, family, pet, buggy and more on the day! All participants will receive a Barnardos medal.
Parking: There is car parking available in the Harbour and all around the town. There is also free carparking (donations in aid of Barnardos) available at the Ferry Terminal Car Park, in the Harbour (limited spaces, subject to availability).
