Revisiting Joy Division’s seminal album ‘Unknown Pleasures’ back in May 2010 for a commemorative charity concert and following it each year with a new album performed live, now including Closer, Movement and Power Corruption & Lie, Peter Hook and The Light have come to a mass some 150 shows in total in the 3 years since first playing LP. Peter Hook will return to The Academy on Friday 22nd November.
Marking the full album the hallmark of their live sets, these are performed in their entirety along with the singles, b-sides and rarities from their respective periods. The Light have drawn great reactions for their live concerts all across the world, drawing crowds of all ages both fans of Hooky’s original groups and those touched by the hands of the still influential music they produced.
Reintroducing Hooky’s early repertoire to a host of new audiences across festivals and dates in the past three years, The Light have taken headline slots at Vintage, Benicassim, 1234 and other European and world festivals. The band have also toured Europe, America, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Japan to great success.
In 2013, Peter Hook And The Light have already toured Eastern Europe and Russia, and with festival and live dates for both Joy Division and New Order album shows over the summer, they are looking forward to fully touring ‘Movement and Power, Lies & Corruption’ later in the year.
The line-up consists of Peter Hook taking lead vocals and playing bass for The Light, his Jack Bates also fills in on bass with Nat Watson on guitar whilst the line up is completed by long time Hooky cohorts Andy Poole on keys and Paul ..Kehoe on drums.
