Oscillator will explore the vibrant vibratory world of oscillators, oscillations, and feedback. Featuring everything from cyclical chemical reactions to swinging bridges, and out-of-control automated pricing schemes to weather phenomena, Oscillator will draw on a diverse range of fields including chemistry, physics, astronomy, earth sciences, biology, mechanics, neurology, mathematics, logic, and the arts. Curated by Douglas Repetto, founder of Dorkbot and Director of Research at the Columbia University Computer Music Center.
Oscillator opens on February 7th with a members-only launch party where you can explore the show alongside the artists and curators behind it. If you're not a member but would like to attend the launch party, sign up as a Science Gallery member now to receive invites to launches, discounts and more! With a packed schedule of Oscillator-themed events, some of which you can check out below, there's never been a better time to join our community.
Make sure to check out the return of Science Gallery's podcast where we chat to Oscillator curator Douglas Repetto about the waves, rhythms, cycles and vibrations all around us.
