Following a sold-out 23 date tour with his band earlier this year, Matt Cardle will hit the road in a different guise in 2013 – ‘unplugged’. Cardle will be performing acoustic versions of songs from his two Top 10 albums in some beautiful, more intimate venues, including a date at Whelan’s on Wednesday 24th April. Cardle returns to Dublin following two sold out shows in the Olympia Theatre earlier in 2012.

Matt Cardle is the happiest he has ever been – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. He’s got a platinum selling debut album – ‘Letters’ – under his belt and a sold out arena tour to his name. The enthusiasm for his craft is shining through. He has a passion for the new songs that only comes from a man who is proud of what he is delivering. His second album ‘The Fire’ was released in October.

This isn’t a teenager who has found fame overnight. This is a man approaching the big 3-0 and he’s not struggling for rock’n’roll anecdotes about his twenties. He’s more in control of his musical destiny than ever before. With a new deal with independent label So What? Recordings, he’s taking a forensic interest in every step of the process this time around.
