KEMP - A Stencil Art Exhibition
Vicar St Presents KEMP - A Stencil Art Exhibition. This is a showcase for Irish artist KEMP on Friday 14th June from 6pm – 8pm at the famous music venue. The event is free and open to the public, all are welcome.
KEMP has spent years honing his unusual technique, his works project a different slant on traditional stencil art. The primary basis of all his pieces are contoured shapes, usually of the human form, then details are added - eyes, hands, lips. Like these contours, the journey from source material to finish product makes many twists and turns along the way.
All his stencils are hand cut and spray painted onto wood panel.
KEMP has exhibited successfully in New York (2012) and Amsterdam (2013). This is his first solo exhibition in his own home town, with all new works on display. This is a perfect opportunity to check out a rising star of the stencil art world.
