The flat finale will take place on Sunday, 4thNovember where the leading owners, trainers and jockeys titles will be decided. At the moment, the battle for the jockey’s championship is not yet over as there’s still 54 races left - so it’s all to play for! At present Joseph O'Brien has 7 winners ahead of Pat Smullen in the race for the Irish Jockeys Championship – so we wish them both well.
The Champion Jockey will be presented with a custom-made perpetual Irish silver trophy been made by master craftsmen Alwright & Marshall, Fade Street, Dublin on behalf of Horse Racing Ireland. Each trophy is set on a mahogany base and engraved with the names of the champion jockeys, trainers, owners and apprentices since 1950.
