FALAMANSA are coming to Dublin on the 27th of January to play at the Academy. They are the biggest forró band in Brazil. Forró is a typical and danceable rhythm from north eastern Brazil. Falamansa (which means smooth talk) have been a crowd pleaser since they started in 1998 wherever they go. Falamansa, formed by Tato (guitar and vocals), Alemão (zabumba drum), Dezinho (triangle and percussion) and Valdir do Acordeom (accordion), has sold over 5,000,000 records. They have played at the world’s biggest international music festivals and are considered Brazil’s greatest “forró” band ever.
Falamansa's music is liked by everybody, from the most puritans to the most radical lovers of “forró” and even by those who are not fond of the style but enjoy the band’s music. Dublin's vibrant Brazilian community will make sure they make this concert. This will be a real taste of home for many and a great night out for the rest. Doors open at 5pm from which point DJ Tarciscio will entertain the crowd.
Thereafter, Carlinhos Cruz and Carlao's band will play a mix of Sertanejo and Pagode. Finally Falamansa will take the stage to play late into the night. At the concert itself there will be a full bar available serving until 11.00pm.
