Dublin Theatre Festival has been a major cultural and civic event in the city's calendar since 1957. The Festival is a forum for participation, celebration and togetherness. Dublin is a wonderful place, rich in songs and stories, in culture and history. It is this wealth that continues to inspire our artists and to encourage our citizens.
Highlights from this year's programme include: The Hanging Gardens - a brand new play from Frank McGuinness, which will receive a world premiere in The Abbey Theatre; The Critic from Rough Magic, which fuses 18th Century characters with modern techniques; The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Rape of Lucrece starring Irish singer Camille O'Sullivan;
and Circa a sexy new cocktail of circus and burlesque fromthe internationally renowned Wunderkammer.
